"My father loved drawing pictures for children," says Vojtech Kubasta's daughter, Dagmar Kubostová Vrkljan. "His life's ambition, he maintained, was to enrich the lives of children." In sharing with you the work of a gifted Artist, Illustrator, and Paper Engineer, we begin our Kubasta opus with great excitement. Our goal is to make this as complete a bibliography as possible. That would have been quite impossible without the help of many people. We'd especially like to thank Milan Zabransky, Prague, for his tireless efforts; The Bienes Center Librarian, James A. Findlay, for allowing to photograph his collection; and Dagmar Kubastová Vrkjan, for sharing with us her moving memories of her father...
