Using the marks above and below the portico front columns as a guide, draw a line on the back side of each column. These guides will help insure that the portico sides are glued at right angles to the portico front.

Before attaching the portico sides (right and left), however, you may wish to glue the portico side backs to the portico sides. This will give your portico a finished look on the inside as well. (Notice in the the image at left that you can see the back of the left portico. That will be the case in your creche unless you attach the portico side back to each of the portico side pieces.)

After you've glued the portico sides and their backs (carefully, making sure everything lines up nicely!), you're ready to glue the portico sides to ghe front.
