An ornate Baroque proscenium — festooned in red and decorated with urns, scrolls, and angels — serves as the stage for the Nativity.
The manger blazes with the Star of Bethlehem set amidst a myriad tiny stars.
At first glance, the Baroque Miniature Nativities 1 & 2 seem to be almost identical.
But a closer look shows three major differences. Mouseover the image at left so you can see that the Nativity scene in Baroque Miniature Nativity 1 depicts the Adoration of the Magi; Nativity No. 2 features the Adoration of the Shepherds.
The word "Gloria," a visual echo of the song of the angels, is framed by a scroll in Nativity 1; the Christmas message of "Peace," in No. 2.
And the front of Nativity No. 2 is a mirror-image of the proscenium of No. 1.
